The Flower
Horn fish is a mix of
different cichlids of Central America,
p.e. Amphilophus
Trimaculatum (Trimac) or Amphilophus
Citrinellus
(Midas).
The
characteristics of these wild predecessors also affected the nature of
these
bulls. First, these fish were bred and traded with in Asia, some time
later the
flower horn craze covered North America as well.
In
Europe, there are
only few flower
horn fans –
however, many well-known experts disapproved
of the flower
horns and condemned them as torment breed. In any case, these fish give
enrichment to any tank scenery.
The Midas
Cichlid is
one of the most
beautiful fish of Central
America. In
its
natural
environment, it exists in various colours – ranging from grey
to
orange. It is
assumed that the yellow-coloured fish surpassed the grey because it is
more
aggressive – and could therefore populate the deeper areas of
the
rivers and
thus escape the dynamite
fish,
which populates the waters near the
banks. In a
tank, the Midas
Cichlid
sometimes drives the
owner mad because of its
aggressiveness.
This
public
Aquarium with 100,000 litres of water shows
the
underwater world of the Amazon.
With turtles,
real crocodiles, three Arowana,
Catfish, Pacus and lots of Cichlids like Cichlasoma umbriferum,
huge Astronotus
Ocellatus.

Amphilophus
Trimaculatus – also a spectacular species from Central
America – has a
body shape similar to that of the Midas Cichlid. However, its design is
completely different and this fish does not develop a big frontal hump.
The Amphilophus Trimaculatus character is just as
rowdily as the Amphilophus Citrinellus and absolutely prevailing
